With Viveport Subscription now almost a month old, and with many subscribers already enjoying access to a great selection of VR apps, we thought you might like to know what’s top of the heap. Or perhaps we should say, at the summit. Let’s take a peak. (Sorry, last pun.)
As you might be able to guess, Everest VR is our most popular app in launch month. It seems like a lot of subscribers can’t wait to strap on their oxygen tanks and ascend to the highest summit in the world from the comfort of their Vive headset. (Oxygen tanks not included.)
With a recent update, developers Sólfar Studios have taken us further up the mountain, with the ability to now follow the footsteps of the historic route used by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, who were the first climbers to summit Everest in 1953.
We couldn’t put you any closer to Everest without a lot of paperwork and some very thick socks. Ready to go? Add Everest VR to your Viveport Subscription.
As well as enjoying the sights from the world’s tallest mountain, subscribers have been diving to the bottom of the sea this month with our second-most popular app, WeVR’s theBlu.
Ironically enough this app really seems to be evergreen, as it’s always cited by Vive users as a great first-time experience. We’ve looked that whale in the eye many times though, and it really never gets old. If you haven’t experienced these mysteries of the deep, add theBlu to your Viveport Subscription.
Our third-biggest app this month can only get bigger – provided you add the parts, of course. Fantastic Contraption by Northway Games is a, well, fantastic building game, where your mission is to get a purple ball… somewhere. Let’s face it, purple balls do have to go places.
Fantastic Contraption is truly a room-scale experience, challenging you to build a machine right in front of your eyes using minimalist parts that create endless possibilities. We’re sure after you add Fantastic Contraption to your Viveport Subscription, you’ll be hooked on creating crazy contraptions.
While these three excellent experiences were at the peak of everyone’s subscriptions this month, there’s plenty worth checking out elsewhere in your Viveport Subscription. Apollo 11 VR lets you ride a rocket straight to the moon, experiencing the most important manned mission to space ever. A little further out in the solar system Mars Odyssey sees you on the red planet’s surface playing Martian handyman. Then if you want to go really cosmic, there’s always We Are Stars, a truly mind-blowing history of the universe.
That’s not all, of course. There are scores of VR apps available in Viveport Subscription, all waiting to be experienced by you. Don’t forget, your first month is free, and you can cancel at any time. So why not sign up?
