HTC’s Viverse strategy is to break down barriers between the real and virtual worlds, with immersion as the focal point. Since 2016, we’ve relentlessly pushed growth and supported innovation in the XR space, spanning hardware, platforms, content through strategic investments and partnerships. In the future the digital space will need to include enabling seamless transactions across both fiat currency and cryptocurrencies, owning items and NFT trading, using your wallet-as-identity, connecting and collaborating, encryption, privacy and much more.
Today we’re introducing our a tailored NFT store primarily designed for the arts and culture. Our new VIVE Arts global art trading platform will host all forms of digital art, including VR, AR and XR pieces, and will be accessible through the VIVE Arts website. Creators will have complete control over the number of NFT editions and the format of the sale, with both fiat and crypto currencies accepted for payment.
Cher Wang, Co-founder and Chairwoman, HTC, said: “Our new global art trading platform heralds the next building block in VIVE Arts’ development of a holistic arts and culture ecosystem, to enhance the rich, growing world of digital art. This platform enables VIVE Arts to enhance our support for artists and institutions, opening up new opportunities for digital creativity, innovation and connection using blockchain technology.”
The inaugural sale will take place on Friday 17 December and will offer NFTs of iconic Art Nouveau masterpieces by renowned Czech artist Alphonse Mucha (1860–1939), as part of a major collaboration with the Mucha Foundation. The sale, Timeless Mucha, will coincide with opening of the exhibition ‘Mucha to Manga – The Magic of the Line’ in Taipei, organised by the Mucha Foundation, and a new NFT series will drop monthly throughout the duration of the exhibition, concluding with a special auction in April 2022.
“We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with the Mucha Foundation for VIVE Arts’ first series of sales, inviting global audiences to discover the foundation’s remarkable collection and acquire beloved artworks by Alphonse Mucha as NFTs,” said Celina Yeh, Executive Director, VIVE Arts.
