We've been nominated as Finalists in three different categories at the AIXR Awards 2024, and it's been amazing to see the reaction to our VIVE Ultimate Tracker - effectively a self-tracking tracker. VIVE Ultimate Tracker is nominated for the XR Peripheral Hardware of the Year.
VIVE Ultimate Tracker is our first-of-a-kind positional tracker. It’s highly versatile, taking interactivity, utility, and expressiveness in XR experiences to the next level. It’s effectively a “self-tracking tracker” working with standalone headsets, including those outside of the VIVE ecosystem, via PCVR.
It features 6DoF inside-out positional tracking with 2 wide-FOV cameras to track its own location in 3D spaces with accuracy. This eliminates the need for external tracking systems while keeping virtual and physical movements in sync. It connects to a wireless dongle, and up to FIVE trackers can connect to each dongle, with up-to seven hours of battery life, it charges via USB-C.
Weighing 94g per tracker, it is 50% smaller than the original VIVE Tracker and has a pogo pin interface so it can easily be mounted to physical objects for custom inputs. It also supports OpenXR.
