Eminem's Epic Fortnite Concert: Gangster Classics Reborn and a Sneak Peek into Fortnite Festival

VIVE POST-WAVE Team • Dec. 14, 2023

2-minute read

Last week, the "Fortnite" Chapter 4 event, "The Big Bang," just ended, and a brand new season is about to begin. In addition to announcing the collaboration with LEGO for "LEGO Fortnite" and the racing game "Rocket Racing," there was also a holographic concert performance by rap superstar Eminem to kick off the upcoming "Fortnite Festival" and also to announce the first concert in this festival by The Weeknd. The content is really rich!

Among all these new events, what attracts me the most is the "Fortnite Festival." How will it be played and how will players interact? Fans could get a taste of what it was like to be a part of the festival experience and see the holographic concert performance in video format, which was released simultaneously on Eminem's own YouTube channel that night.

As players jump into the festival, Eminem's classic intro to "Lose Yourself" starts playing. The background goes from dark to bright, and Eminem takes the stage, recreating his look from the movie "8 Mile". Then, gameplay similar to guitar hero appears, where players can not only follow Eminem's fast-paced rhythm, but also interact with the performer through a rhythm mini game set within the Fortnite experience. Halfway through Eminem's rap, a giant version of Eminem suddenly appears next to the stage, transforming into Godzilla and wreaking havoc and causing massive destruction. Yes, the second song in the setlist is "Godzilla," the song in which he broke his own rapping speed record in 2020 by rapping 229 words in 30 seconds (that is 7.6 words per second), breaking the Guinness World Record, again. Really cool!

If you missed out on Eminem's Fortnite concert and couldn't experience the amazing live show experience in a virtual world, don't fret! The upcoming "Taiwan Roar" holographic concert organized by BEATDAY on December 18th and 19th will also be very exciting. The participating artists are all my personal favorites - MVP champion Aquaman from "The Rappers" Season 2, the ultra manly Suhf, and the lyrically clever Green Father BJ. Also, I'm here to wish for "Dream," "Suhfperfical," and "Mr. Muscle BJ" to be added to the performance setlist. If the final song lineup is similar, it's purely coincidental, I promise!

Let’s take a look at the exciting trailer.
