How to upgrade your VIVE XR Elite to Business Edition

When VIVE XR Elite launched at the start of the year, it garnered a lot of attention. Lightweight and versatile, with VR and MR, different physical configurations, and multiple ways to enjoy content – VIVE XR Elite has something for everyone.

Originally launched as a consumer-facing device before we launched VIVE XR Elite Business Edition in early June, we saw a number of businesses who simply couldn’t wait to get their hands on it, so they bought the consumer version.

So for those organisations, here’s an easy guide for how to unlock all of the Business Edition features and access VIVE Business+, our new web-based application for enterprise-grade support and services.

1. Purchase your digital Activation Key

Before you can upgrade your VIVE XR Elite consumer device to Business Edition, it must be registered with VIVE Business Warranty and Services (BWS). BWS is the warranty and services program available for business customers. BWS enables warranty protection and provides enhanced support and services.

To get your Activation Key, reach out to your preferred distributor or VIVE account manager, or purchase your BWS license directly through the VIVE website here: https://business.vive.com/bws

2. Register your device with VIVE Business Device Management System

Once you have your Activation Key ready, head to the VIVE Business Device Management System on your computer's web browser and log in using your HTC account. If you don’t have an HTC account, click ‘Create New Account’ to register for one.

To register your VIVE XR Elite, select ‘Register Device’ within the dashboard and enter the following information:

  • Product Serial Number
  • Location and Date of purchase
  • Activation Key
Register a new device

You can register up to 10 devices at one time.

3. Register VIVE XR Elite on VIVE Business+

Your VIVE XR Elite is now a Business Edition. After registering devices on VIVE Business Device Management System, go back to VIVE Business+ to register the devices using your HTC account.
