Vive returned for its second year at PAX West 2016 with more experiences than ever before. Virtual reality was the star of the show, as could be seen on the official PAX guidebook cover illustration. The inaugural VR Village was constructed on the 4th floor of the Westin in downtown Seattle and housed multiple Vive demo stations, as well as a mixed reality filming location where attendees could walk away with a video clip of their Vive experiences. A mix of YouTube and Twitch stars particularly enjoyed the Front Defense demo being shown in mixed reality.

Owlchemy Labs and Adult Swim Games were demoing Rick and Morty VR for the first time at a public event. Thousands of fans of the show lined up to finally meet their favorite cartoon characters in the virtual world.

Bethesda was showing off the newly updated Doom VR and Fallout 4 VR experiences on the main show floor. NVIDIA announced a new mod update to their visually stunning VR Fun House experience. Serious Sam VR from Croteam was featured at the Corsair booth, as well as the VR Village. Intel was showing off Raw Data from Survios, powered by their latest processors. It seemed like every where you turned on the show floor, Vive was attracting the biggest crowds in multiple locations.

PAX also allows independent developers the opportunity to show off what they have been creating. Wizard Games showed off their multiplayer experience Cowbots and Aliens, in which two people could face off against one another in a world where every object could be used as a weapon and made for fun demos to participate in and to watch as a spectator.

As the show finally wrapped up on Monday one thing was for certain, virtual reality is here to stay. We look forward to seeing every one in Seattle next year!
