Open, Connected, Intelligent - HTC VIVE introduces AI features to Immersive Technology
3 March 2025, Barcelona. HTC VIVE is introducing a raft of AI features at MWC25, building its Immersive Technology ecosystem to be even easier and more intuitive to use. VIVE’s ecosystem spans across versatile hardware, flexible software, and even into the very networks which connected devices operate on. Adding AI tools, VIVE is making cutting-edge technology accessible to Consumers, Enterprise, and everyone in-between.
Creating immersive environments is simple and easy thanks to AI in VIVERSE Worlds - whether it’s building games, learning environments, or brand experiences, with VIVERSE no coding skills are needed
VIVE Mars, which has revolutionised virtual production, includes new AI features in the VIVE Mars engine so people can interact with the virtual environment seamlessly. At MWC25 guests will shoot fireworks from their fingertips in front of the iconic National Art Museum of Catalonia, and interact with an avatar, all in real-time
G REIGNS, HTC’s private portable 5G solution, is using AI as part of network optimisation, and will host an AI-driven 5G-powered smart factory autonomous vehicle demonstration
Cher Wang, Co-Founder and Chairperson of HTC said, “AI is opening new ways for people and businesses to unleash their imagination, and make lives better. We dream of a world where technology is Open, Connected, and Intelligent. At HTC VIVE we believe AI has to be used responsibly, with Privacy and Security at the forefront so people have safety and peace of mind. AI should solve problems and help people, and not replace them – and in this way technology can elevate humanity.”
VIVERSE – spatial computing platform
VIVERSE is rolling out new features in VIVERSE Create, including a suite of tools that allow creators to build and share interactive multiplayer worlds to any device, anywhere - no code required. Users can share their worlds across VR, mobile, PC, and Mac with VIVERSE Create’s cross-platform, “no install” feature, making interactive entertainment accessible without a gaming machine.
VIVERSE for Business is enabling companies to create branded 3D experiences that are embeddable on any webpage and up to 10x faster with AI. From rapid digital twin development to AI avatars for personalized training, it optimizes virtual spaces for measurable business impact.
VIVERSE Worlds is a portal to the immersive 3D internet that is changing how 3D content is shared and experienced online. VIVERSE Worlds is an open, user-centric webXR platform that connects people globally, empowering them to explore, work, and play in a safe virtual space.
Multi-User Free-Roam VR growing globally
Location Based Experiences are capturing imagination across Culture, Arts, and Gaming. VIVE’s industry-leading technology of VIVE Focus 3 and the new VIVE Focus Vision, and VIVE’s Location Based Software Suite (LBSS) have been the foundation of many incredible experiences. At MWC25, VIVE and Small Creative will set-up and run an LBE – Gaudi, Atelier of the Divine – where six people concurrently explore the rich world of Gaudi.
Excurio’s Horizon of Khufu, a stunning walk through the Great Pyramid of Giza, has welcomed over 2 million visitors globally. While Sandbox, one of the world’s biggest VR-gaming chains, recently hit a milestone $200M in lifetime ticket sales globally, with huge IP tie-ins such as Squid Game and Rebel Moon.
Excurio leverages VIVE’s sophisticated technology to run three different experiences concurrently, with over 100 people in VR in the same space at the same time. This means one person could be walking through Notre Dame, with a second standing atop the Great Pyramid, and a third tiptoeing around Dinosaurs.
Increasingly cultural institutions are transporting people to another time, to witness history as it happened. The Château de Versailles recently announced its upcoming Versailles: Lost Gardens of the Sun King experience, opening on 25th March 2025. Previously, VIVE and VIVE Arts have worked with Musee d’Orsay, The V&A, Musée de l'Orangerie, the Louvre, Somerset House, Gray Space, and many more, as well as supporting exhibitions to tour the world including across East Asia.
Mars, Camera, Action
VIVE Mars is a compact and cost-effective virtual production solution, and this year VIVE Mars Engine adds new real-time AI features so people can interact with the virtual scenes. At MWC25 people will stand in front of the iconic National Art Museum of Catalonia and launch fireworks from their fingertips, as well as control a virtual avatar in real-time.
VIVE Mars makes real-time virtual production more accessible, with faster set up and professional-grade features that simplify filmmaking for all – from indie creators to big studios. Recent examples of VIVE Mars being used professionally include: VW’s advert with Christopher Lloyd, a Daughtry music video, Hulu’s trailer for the Kardashians.
G REIGNS – Live Portable Private 5G, and 6G concept
At MWC25 G REIGNS, an HTC division, will again create a live Private Portable 5G network on the HTC stand (Hall 7 stand 7A40). The REIGN Core 5G RAN will host a live demonstration of a small autonomous factory vehicle working on tasks.
In addition, G REIGNS is collaborating with MediaTek (Hall 3 stand 3D10) and Intel to showcase a live 6G network. This innovative Integrated Communication & Computing solution demonstrates distributed computing through an "Edge Cloud" (RAN cloud). A smartphone on the 6G network will handle light computing and move high-load computing to the Edge Cloud, versus the traditional approach of the Internet cloud, all with ultra-low latency. This breakthrough enables the upgrading of key applications, including generative AI, telecom-grade privacy protection, personal data governance, and dynamic resource scheduling.
G REIGNS has also deployed a live Private 5G network and Edge Cloud VR Solution with Nissan Motor Company. This breakthrough resolves challenges in traditional design collaboration environments, setting a new benchmark for 5G-enabled VR applications in industrial design.
By adopting G REIGNS’ “Private 5G Network and Edge Cloud VR Solution,” Nissan has now established an immersive VR wireless design environment with stability, high speed and low latency. PCs and head-mounted display are connected to a clean, non-interfering, secure network via a private 5G network, and the combination of high-speed communications and cloud computing technology provides a near-latency-free experience.
This solution provides new advances in the design development process by ensuring the security of confidential data, enabling design teams to collaborate on accurate designs in real time, accelerating product development cycles, and improving the quality of decision making.
