HTC VIVE believes that technology can support humanity, unleashing creativity and helping people to achieve great things.
Open ecosystems are of vital importance, breaking down barriers for developers. By working together, everyone benefits – from developers, through to businesses, and end-users.
That’s why we’re proud of all parties involved in The Khronos Group, resulting in the availability of the OpenXR 1.1 standard. The Khronos Group notes, “OpenXR 1.1 consolidates widely used API extensions into the core specification to reduce fragmentation and adds new functionality to streamline the development of more powerful and efficient XR applications.”
“This marks a significant milestone for OpenXR—an impressive achievement in advancing an open ecosystem. At HTC, we remain committed to open standards, streamlining the creation of XR experiences. We will continue to support OpenXR 1.1 for both PC and AIO, are excited about the new release and look forward to the thriving growth of the OpenXR community,” said Asii Wu, vice president of HTC.
HTC VIVE has supported OpenXR for some time, and continues to build products which support OpenXR standards. This covers everything from VIVE XR Elite and VIVE Focus 3, through to our VIVE Ultimate Tracker, and VIVE Full Face Tracker (for VIVE XR Elite). This means it’s never been easier for developers to create amazing immersive experiences.
