Recently, it was announced that hololive's Gen 0 VTuber, Hoshimachi Suisei, will perform at Japan's iconic Nippon Budokan in 2025. She will be the second virtual idol to grace this legendary stage, following in the footsteps of KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO's KAF. Before this exciting event, these two virtual singers teamed up in late November to release a collaborative single, "SWAY". This track is the fourth installment in KAF's "Suite 2" project and marks a rare collaboration between two major VTuber companies.
In the "SWAY" music video, KAF and Hoshimachi Suisei wander through the streets of Japan, sparking excitement among fans eager to visit the filming locations themselves.

This collaboration is a significant part of KAF's "Suite 2" project, which explores new possibilities for virtual singers by partnering with various musicians and artists. Prior to "SWAY," KAF had already teamed up with several renowned musicians, such as the popular VOCALOID producer TSUMIKI for the catchy track "Chewing Disco," and with Shigeru Kishida from the band Quruli for "Still In Love."
The "SWAY" collaboration isn't the first time these two have worked together. Back in 2022, at the "VTuber Fes Japan 2022," they performed a cover of MikitoP's "Sayoko." During that performance, Hoshimachi Suisei suggested the song list, and KAF expressed that it was a dream collaboration for her. They reunited in 2023 at Hoshimachi Suisei's fifth-anniversary concert "Shining Memory," where they performed KAF's "Tokyo Shandy Rendez-vous." These experiences have honed their synergy, which can be felt through the entirety of "SWAY."

Moreover, "SWAY" features lyrics and composition by the renowned Japanese composer Shuichi Mabe, a former core member of "Soutaiseiriron." Recently, he has collaborated with new-generation singer ano on several hit tracks, including the ending theme for "Chainsaw Man" and the theme song for "Ranma ½." His unique style is evident in "SWAY," and the lyrics delve into the identity of virtual singers. Their emotions are genuine and sincere, aiming to transcend dimensions and deliver the best music and heartfelt emotions to their fans.
Are fans satisfied with this collaboration? We certainly hope to see more powerful partnerships among virtual idols in the future!
