VIVE Mars CamTrack Announces BEST HORROR SHOT! Competition

VIVE Mars CamTrack, the compact, affordable virtual production solution from HTC VIVE, has made waves in the industry – teaming up with inspirational filmmakers, taking the stage together with Epic Games at GDC, and winning Best of Show at IBC 2023. Now, the team behind this popular kit is excited to announce its second global film competition for established and aspiring filmmakers alike: the BEST HORROR SHOT! competition for Halloween 2024.
BEST HORROR SHOT! participants will use VIVE Mars CamTrack to make a short horror film, which will be judged on four criteria: Best Scare, Best Cinematography, Best Story, and Best Performance. Submissions will be divided into two categories covering working filmmakers (INDUSTRY track) and film students (STUDENT track). Prizes include a VIVE Mars CamTrack kit, a VIVE Mars FIZTrack accessory, virtual workshops with industry-leading experts, software licenses, gift certificates, and more.

Entries for the BEST HORROR SHOT! competition will be judged by industry experts from CinePacks Studios, Cinematography Database, Andyax, Doss Guava XR, and more. Submissions will be accepted from September 1st to October 14th, 2024, exclusively through the VIVE Mars CamTrack website.
