For VR fans of Minecraft, 2024 was a bit of a bummer. Last October, Mojang Studios, the team behind Minecraft, announced in their Bedrock update log that VR support would be discontinued starting March 2025. While players can still continue their game progress on non-VR devices and keep their purchased items, including Minecoins, the VR feature will become a thing of the past. In fact, support for PlayStation VR had already ended by September 2024, signaling Mojang's gradual exit from the VR scene.
However, despite the official announcement of phasing out VR support, the Minecraft VR mod "Vivecraft" has become a crucial savior for players seeking immersive experiences. Not only that, but Vivecraft also rolled out a highly anticipated major update in early 2025—introducing full-body tracking, allowing VR players to dive even deeper into their creative worlds using a Steam VR headset.
On January 4, 2025, Vivecraft launched its latest version 1.2.0, featuring full-body tracking. This allows players to map every subtle movement of their bodies onto their in-game characters using compatible motion trackers, creating a more realistic interaction.
After the update was released, VR content creator GingasVR was quick to test the full-body tracking feature and shared her gameplay video. In the video, she showcased various ways to play using the VIVE Tracker, such as making her character dance vividly, kicking incoming monsters, and even swimming underwater, leaving many viewers in the comments section exclaiming, "How is this even possible?!"

The Vivecraft 1.2.0 version is still in the testing phase, and full-body tracking isn't limited to VIVE trackers; any SteamVR-compatible full-body tracking device can be used.
