Discovery’s Shark Week Comes to Viveport

The drama of Shark Week is coming to a headset near you as Discovery releases Shark Week VR content on Viveport. Running from July 28 through August 4, Shark Week is one of the most anticipated and iconic television events of the summer. Now, you can get up close and personal to these thrilling creatures with 360 videos and interactive Shark-themed VR content on Viveport.

With the new Discovery VR channel in Viveport Video, you can binge all the Shark Week 360 content you can sink your teeth into. Two dozen videos have been added to the service, giving you full access to Discovery’s entire library of shark-related VR video content.
The Discovery VR channel has a diverse lineup of content to keep you entertained all Shark Week long. From learning how marine biologists track and collect data to better protect these predators to getting a behind the scenes look at what it takes to be a Shark Week cameraman or even witnessing a shark puppy feeding frenzy, you’ll be chomping at the bit for this content.

Shark Week: Operation Apex
To dialup the Shark Week intensity, HTC VIVE has relaunched a Shark Week branded Operation Apex experience for PC VR. Developed by Curiscope and VIVE Studios, Shark Week: Operation Apex is an exploration and adventure experience that transports players underwater to uncover the secrets of the big blue’s ecosystem in an atmospheric deep-sea dive. There, the player’s mission becomes clear as they take their research rig out into open waters in search of the largest great white shark ever seen.
Shark Week: Operation Apex is available to download as part of VIVEPORT Infinity, HTC VIVE’s unlimited VR Subscription service, or to purchase on the Viveport store for $9.99. The title is available for VIVE, MR and Oculus headsets. Remember, Oculus Rift users have until August 4th to redeem their two free months of Viveport Infinity!
