Nothing's in my cart

Although comic expos aren't exactly my forte, my recent interest in the collaboration between VIVE ORIGINALS and Springfish Studio has piqued my curiosity about VTubers. The journey from unfamiliarity to familiarity with VTubers has been truly fascinating. I vividly remember attending the VTuber concert "Illusionary" at BEATDAY. The experience was as thrilling as attending a live concert, not only because of the stellar VTuber performance but also due to the engaging activities around it, such as fortune-telling and goldfish-scooping games, which elevated the whole virtual concert experience.
This time, VIVE ORIGINALS brought the VTuber concert to the physical venue of the comic expo, almost magically summoning VTubers VR glasses using the VIVE XR Elite. They even added a one-on-one VTuber virtual meet and greet, showcasing how they bring immense joy to fans at the comic expo!

The first experience was the VR version of the single "Illusionary" performed by VTubers Nemesis and Earendel, lasting about four minutes. The VR device used was the lightweight VIVE XR Elite, which required minimal adjustment, just a simple tweak of the interpupillary distance. Excitingly, this VTuber concert supported hand tracking; once you put on the VR glasses and raise your hands for the cameras to detect, you can cheer for the performers with your hands!

The VTuber concert allowed me to immerse myself in another space amidst the bustling comic expo, standing in the front row cheering for my favorite idol. It was truly touching! Currently, this VR concert is a solo version, and we're all hoping for a multiplayer version soon, so we can enjoy virtual concerts with friends.

After the VTuber concert, it was time for my one-on-one VR meet-and-greet with Lutralutra. Although I had observed the process while waiting, it was a uniquely special and somewhat shy experience to see Lutralutra 'in person' so close through the VR glasses. (Ah, it might feel too close for someone with social anxiety, a First World problem indeed!)
Make a heart gesture with Lutralutra.
During the nearly one-minute interaction, I could high-five and shake hands with Lutralutra, with heart effects bursting when there was physical contact. Since it was a real-time interaction, there was no delay, and I could chat with her throughout the process.

If you're a K-pop fan, you might know that idols often have online fan meetings, usually conducted via traditional video calls. The downside of traditional video calls is the lack of eye contact, which can make fans wonder, "Is my idol zoning out? Are they even listening?" But in a one-on-one VR meet-and-greet, you can truly feel the intimacy of making eye contact with your idol.
This year's comic expo experience was absolutely dreamy. In the second half of this year, VIVE ORIGINALS has several collaborations with VTubers planned. I wonder which VTuber will bring us a unique experience next? Stay tuned!
