The immersive technology market in military and defense is expected to grow from 8.26 billion in 2023 to 59.37 billion in 2032. As the military continues to explore innovative ways to improve training, enhance retention, support mental health, and increase recruitment, extended reality (XR) solutions are becoming essential tools. In HTC VIVE’s survey of 400 active-duty personnel across five military branches, 81% said that XR increases trainee confidence and cultivates the required muscle memory for successful application. Additionally, 77% noted that XR simulations increase trainees’ sense of safety and readiness when facing real-world challenges.
This year, HTC VIVE will exhibit at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation, and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), showcasing scalable and secure XR solutions in Orlando, Florida. At our booth #889, we’ll present the advanced capabilities of our VIVE Focus Vision XR headset and HTC G REIGNS private 5G solution REIGN CORE, which can provide a secure, fast, and stable 5G network to many devices at once for multi-user training and greater efficiency.
HTC VIVE’s hardware solutions will be shown at our booth #889:
VIVE Focus Vision builds upon the success of the popular VIVE Focus 3 headset, offering features designed for multi-user environments. Key improvements include an auto-IPD adjustment, a hot-swappable battery, a ruggedized frame, built-in eye tracking, and an infrared sensor. These features ensure durability, comfort, and precision, making it ideal for military and defense training.
HTC REIGN CORE is a compact and portable 5G private network solution that delivers seamless, secure, and scalable connectivity in remote deployments at low cost. The REIGN CORE S4 system supports up to 30 VR headsets in an area the size of an NBA basketball court or much larger, allowing government organizations to enhance remote deployments securely and efficiently. By integrating with Zscaler’s Zero Trust security and Starlink’s satellite connectivity, government organizations can ensure a secure, all-in-one network solution for the most challenging environments. This solution creates reliable, high-speed communication bubbles, enabling real-time collaboration and data sharing between remote teams and global command centers across multiple devices in mission-critical applications and communications – which will be showcased at our booth.
In collaboration with our partners at I/ITSEC, you can experience the following XR solutions at our booth #889:
Neurova Labs: The company recognizes that effective PTSD treatment begins with addressing neurological injuries as the foundation for recovery. At our booth, Neurova Labs will demonstrate an environment in VIVE Focus Vision that leverages skills familiar to the soldier, such as shooting a weapon in conjunction with gamified motor and visual therapeutic modalities. This unique approach can not only restore damaged brain regions by actuating neurovascular re-coupling but also optimize performance from the brain’s prefrontal cortex.
· Bohemia Interactive Simulations: Discover the power of the XR Sand Table, powered by VIVE Focus Vision’s mixed reality (MR) capabilities. The XR Sand Table integrates detailed terrain systems with live battle simulations powered by the widely adopted VBS4 training software used globally by military organizations. The MR experiences blend virtual scenarios seamlessly with the real world, fostering collaboration and interaction with existing real-world applications. Users can scale the terrain and simulation visuals to focus on a single unit’s actions on the battlefield or gain a strategic overview of an entire operation.
· M3D Technologies: Experience the cutting-edge VR Launcher Platform, a portable and versatile training solution designed for precision and realism. Powered by VIVE Focus Vision and VIVE trackers, the platform delivers high-fidelity visuals and unparalleled positional accuracy, enabling users to immerse themselves fully in the virtual combat environment. Every movement feels natural and precise, ensuring an authentic training experience. Additionally, the platform leverages HTC’s 5G private solution, REIGN CORE S2, to provide secure, uninterrupted streaming and ultra-low latency, which is critical for accelerating skill development and enhancing engagement in military and tactical training scenarios.
Additionally, HTC VIVE’s partners will demonstrate immersive training solutions on VIVE devices throughout the I/ITSEC exhibition hall, including:
· HOLOGATE (Booth #1987) will demonstrate its mobile, versatile training solution with VIVE Focus Vision. This mobile setup can transform any room into a multi-use, free-roam virtual arena in minutes, enabling users to train, visualize, and simulate any scenario - anytime, anywhere. The compact system structure and the dynamic VR room size enable ultra-flexible use cases without room restrictions. Attendees can explore diverse environments and maps and try out different training scenarios featuring integrated weapons and equipment.
· V-Armed (Booth #1990), makers of fully immersive VR training simulators, will demonstrate VIVE XR Elite and REIGN CORE private 5G. Alongside the motion tracking experts at OptiTrack, V-Armed will be running a multiparticipant VR demonstration involving a reconnaissance UAV and small tactical entry team - showing how drone operators and special operations teams can train together in virtual reality.
· Talon Simulations (Booths #332 & 328), in collaboration with XR Training, Enludio, and Theory Studios will showcase the cutting-edge XR-VDT immersive training platform. This state-of-the-art solution will deliver true-to-life immersion with 2DOF motion, integrated sound, and high-resolution VR. Attendees can experience the thrill of pushing through the surf zone in an Amphibious Combat Vehicle with VIVE XR Elite or navigating rugged terrain in a Joint Light Tactical Vehicle with VIVE Focus Vision.
· FLAIM (Booth #1961) pioneers immersive training systems that enhance readiness for high-risk scenarios by blending physical and virtual environments. Their solution equips trainees with the skills to confidently navigate complex challenges without compromising safety or resources. Attendees will experience a world-first mixed reality damage control training featuring a realistic electrical firefighting scenario that focuses on procedural accuracy, communication, and safety using CO2 extinguishing in a real-world setting with VIVE Focus Vision.
Mass Virtual (booth #849), Street Smarts VR (booth #1285), HTX Labs (booth #2409), SimX VR (booth #809), Kratos (booth #1221), MSI (booth #321), Operator XR (booth #1961), and more will showcase solutions on our device on the show floor as well.
