Popular VR Party Games That Get Competitive - Fun with Friends: Part 3

Games have always been centered around competition, and VR party games take that competition into a new dimension!

Among Us VR — Save your crewmembers from doom.

This virtual reality version of the popular whodunit party game takes place on a spaceship where crewmembers race to complete tasks to ensure their safety. However, there are hidden impostors among these crewmembers that aim to kill off the others or sabotage their efforts. 

Among Us VR, available on SteamVR, takes four to ten players straight into the murder mystery experience, where you physically complete your list of tasks with your VR controllers, adding an immersive element to the crewmember role.  

You may, however, be interrupted mid-task by an impostor who murders you, leaving your body for a fellow crewmember to find. Everyone then discusses the crime amongst themselves and votes out suspicious players to try and eliminate the impostors. One wrong choice can leave your crew one step closer to doom. 

By waving your controller around for in-game interactions, the VR version of Among Us adds a fresh way of communicating with crewmembers and completing tasks. The introduction of meeting rooms introduces an interactive discussion process where your character can see the crewmembers as opposed to just a menu with names as in the original Among Us. 

Seeing the whole room dim around you while the impostors cut the lights and having crewmembers walk up to you while not knowing if they want to help or murder you is wonderfully terrifying.  

Invite your friends into the game and point fingers, accuse, argue, laugh, or cry. But don’t forget… Some people aren’t who they say they are.
