In the ever-evolving landscape of education, it’s crucial to explore innovative new ways to inspire students and reshape their learning experiences. Influential EdTech event ISTELive serves as a convergence point for educators, technologists, and industry leaders who share the goal of transforming education for the better. This year at ISTELive, HTC VIVE unveiled the new VIVE Flow Global Traveler bundle in collaboration with VictoryXR and showcased CareerViewXR created by Be More Colorful – including 360 VR career and technical learning videos for high-demand trade industries on the award-winning VIVE Focus 3 headset.
Reshaping learning experiences with XR
VIVE Flow Global Traveler bundle
offers an opportunity for students to embark on virtual journeys that transcend physical boundaries. With the bundle, learners can virtually explore more than 120 locations around the globe including The Great Wall of China, Volcanoes in Iceland, and more, to see architectural wonders and experience diverse cultures without leaving their classrooms. This transformative technology not only enriches educational content but also fosters a deeper understanding of the world.
"We hear from teachers that the thing they want most are global VR field trips. Well, here’s over 120 of them!" said Steve Grubbs, CEO of VictoryXR.
Redefining professional development
Helping students and learners make more informed decisions about their future paths requires exposing them to real-world scenarios and hands-on experiences. If you’re a student nestled amidst the cornfields of North Dakota, It’s difficult and costly to embark on field trips, which hinders exposure to in-demand careers located in metropolitan centers. HTC VIVE’s collaboration with CareerViewXR enables students and job seekers to break down the barriers, diving into immersive 360 learning experiences on VIVE Focus 3 and shadowing professionals including registered nurses, paramedics, diesel technicians, and more to expand their industry-specific knowledge in a safe and accessible way. Despite geographical limitations, students can now visit wind towers in VR to see how technicians perform maintenance 80 meters above the ground, or shadow first responders like paramedics to understand how to conduct life-saving care in critical moments.
"CareerViewXR ensures schools across the country can overcome the substantial time, geographic, safety, financial, and privacy limitations of traditional job shadows. We’re excited to continue working with HTC VIVE delivering equitable access to authentic career experiences, ensuring all students can choose their best career path," said Matthew Chaussee, Co-founder and CEO of Be More Colorful.
As immersive technologies evolve, it is essential to embrace innovative solutions that allow students and educators to engage with their curriculum in new and more impactful ways. HTC VIVE shares the same inspired vision with ISTELive on the positive impact of educational technology, and our partnerships with VictoryXR and Be More Colorful demonstrate unparalleled opportunities for students, learners, and educators to thrive and grow.
