HTC aims to provide users with flexibility in their gaming experience, foster innovation within the industry and, facilitate the integration of motion tracking technology into a broader ecosystem.
Following the announcement of the initial support for HTC VIVE’s standalone headsets VIVE XR Elite and VIVE Focus 3, we are excited to formally announce 3rd party PCVR support (Beta) for VIVE Ultimate Tracker. VIVE Ultimate Tracker will be your optimal choice for motion trackers, offering precise, accurate tracking in a compact form factor without the need for external sensors. Connect up to 5 VIVE Ultimate Trackers* directly into SteamVR and use them with existing VIVE Tracker supported content.
As ever with XR, to ensure better tracking performance, we recommend that the play area be at least 3m x 3m in size and well-lit. Additionally, the trackers should be positioned at least 1.5m away from any obstacles. Try to minimize completely blank surfaces and reflective objects. Having decorations (like artwork) or patterns on your walls, ceiling, and floor can help with tracking. And avoid too dark or extremely bright environments.
