The long-awaited good news is finally here! Without any delay, VIVE has released the beta software for it's VIVE Ultimate Tracker that supports third-party PCVR headsets, allowing Quest and Pico users to animate their VR avatar with legs using VR full body tracking on the PC.
Now, by joining HTC's official VIVERSE Discord and entering the #betas-available channel, you can get access to the Beta program code. Of course, the beta version isn't perfect, but feedback is highly encouraged on Discord to understand the real needs and user experiences with the VIVE tracker. We look forward to releasing a more user-friendly and refined official version soon, enhancing the experience for every PCVR headset user.
Quest and Pico users can now use the VIVE Ultimate Trackers for self-positioning to bring their VR avatar to life with legs, thanks to the vr full body tracking technology!
If you're not quite sure what the VIVE Ultimate Tracker is, or you're curious about how it works and how it differs from other trackers like the original VIVE Tracker, you're welcome to check out the VR Full Body Tracking Guide, which will help you choose a tracking product that best suits your needs for your pc vr headset.
Eager to place an order after reading this? Before you do, here are some friendly reminders. To ensure the best VR full body tracking results, we recommended that your play space is at least 3×3 square meters and well-lit. Additionally, the tracker should be placed at least 1.5 meters away from any environmental obstacles. Be mindful of reflective items or glass in the space, as they may interfere with tracking. If your space has a lot of plain white walls or floors, we also suggest to hang up some patterned posters or paintings to visually break up the monotone surfaces to improve tracking performance with the VIVE Ultimate Tracker.
We look forward to seeing more people using the VIVE Ultimate Tracker. Perhaps we'll meet in the dance rooms of VRChat, embodied as our high fidelity full-body avatars!
