Another fantastic year at Laval Virtual has come to a close!
As always, it’s been a great event and we had many inspiring conversations. We are very proud to have been recognized for our latest advancement in XR tracking and innovation by winning the XR Devices & Interaction Products Award for the VIVE Ultimate Tracker at the Laval Virtual Awards! 🏆
VIVE Ultimate Tracker is sometimes called our “self-tracking tracker” because it has two wide field-of-view cameras onboard, and works seamlessly with VIVE XR Elite and VIVE Focus 3. But it’s not limited at all, it even works with non-VIVE headsets like the Meta Quest 3, through PCVR. It’s lightweight and versatile, great for full body tracking, or attaching to objects you want to track in 3D space. Up to five at a time can be connected to a single dongle, and we even released the CAD files so people can build bespoke mounts for it. We’re honoured to see this innovation recognised at the Laval Awards.
Elsewhere at the event, visitors had the opportunity to try our new award-winning VIVE Ultimate Trackers paired with our standalone headsets, VIVE XR Elite and VIVE Focus 3. Our spatial computing platform for remote collaboration, VIVERSE For Business, impressed on the booth as it showcased its latest AI tool enhancements like live translation, automatic meeting minutes, as well as Polygon Streaming which delivers incredible detail for 3D models regardless of what device is being used.
It was a pleasure to be joined by fantastic partners like Virtualware and TechViz. Techviz’s demo showed how the compact, self-tracking VIVE Ultimate Tracker can be utilised in enterprise situations, while Virtualware exhibited how its VIROO enterprise VR platform, transforms physical spaces into collaborative immersive VR rooms, with VIVE Focus 3 🤝
Meanwhile we were involved with PI5G - 5G Immersive Platforms, a project coordinated by CEA and backed by the French government to promote the use of immersive technologies and 5G for enterprise. It exhibited using REIGN CORE, our powerful and easy-to-deploy portable private 5G network by G REIGNS.
It's a fascinating use case for consistent super-low latency 5G, demonstrating how it may be used alongside XR to remotely control a moveable robot which has a robotic arm, and interact with its surroundings. It’s amazing to combine different aspects of the VIVE ecosystem to deliver remarkable industrial solutions.
Thomas Dexmier, our AVP of Business Development & Enterprise Solutions EMEA, delivered a keynote speech during the event titled ‘From Your Face To Space, How XR Is Changing The World And Beyond’ which looked at XR’s impact on humanity and the inspiring story of how the VIVE Focus 3 is being used on the International Space Station to help support astronauts mental and physical health 👨🚀
