Enter Jack and Rose's World in Titanic: Echoes from the Past

VIVE POST-WAVE Team • April 14, 2025

2 minutes read

Remember that moment in "Titanic" when Jack wins his ticket and boards the ship with such joy? As viewers, we couldn't help but think, "Oh no," already dreading the twist of fate that awaits. Whether or not your first encounter with the unsinkable ship came through the 1997 film, there's now a fresh way to revisit its story: "Titanic: Echoes from the Past", an immersive VR experience that brings Jack and Rose's world to life.

This immersive experience, produced by Eclipso and Small Creative, opened on February 13 in Camden, London. The entire adventure lasts about 45 minutes, including a 15-minute pre-boarding briefing. Participants don the VIVE Focus Vision headset and step into a virtual reality world that supports multiplayer, free-roaming exploration. Dive 3,800 meters below the sea to explore the wreckage of the Titanic, then journey back to its maiden voyage in 1912 through authentic footage captured by the ship’s official photographer, William Harbeck.

As a passenger, you’re free to explore the bustling third-class cabins, the deafening engine room, or enjoy a sunset stroll on the deck. And of course, there’s the iconic grand staircase where Jack met Rose. Beyond the visual spectacle, the creative team spent two years researching archives to faithfully recreate lesser-known stories of real passengers, including Irish immigrants and surviving Chinese sailors. Inevitably, you’ll also witness the ship’s fateful collision with the iceberg — and the chaos that followed.

Eclipso’s founder and CEO, Antoine Lieutaud, said: “This is not just an adventure; it’s an opportunity to connect with history in a meaningful way.” "Titanic: Echoes from the Past" offers audiences a rare chance to witness the Titanic’s current state — without diving into the deep sea. (Scientists estimate that the wreckage, eroded by bacteria and seawater, will largely disappear within one to two centuries.) The experience also allows users to travel through time, revisiting its glorious launch and uncovering real stories from 113 years ago.
