Do you remember the buzz last year when VRChat launched its Android mobile version, hinting at its commitment to cross-platform accessibility? At that time, iPhone users were clamoring, asking, "When will it be our turn?" Despite the lack of a clear timeline from the officials, the wait is finally over! VRChat is initiating a closed beta test for the iPhone iOS version and is calling for cross-platform beta testers before the end of May.

Existing VRChat users can apply to be a beta tester by logging into their accounts on the VRChat website, where they'll find a dedicated application form for the VRChat iOS beta. After filling out the necessary information and submitting the form, applicants may be invited to participate in the beta program. The development team has stated that they will gradually increase the number of testers to ensure a smooth process and to gather valuable user feedback.
Currently, the team is focusing on testing with iOS devices equipped with more than 6 GB of RAM, with plans to potentially expand to more devices in the future. During the testing phase, they are looking to recruit enthusiastic users who are willing to brave the potential instabilities of a beta version and provide feedback on their experiences.
The development team is committed to releasing a stable and polished version, aiming to provide all users with a virtual social experience they'll enjoy. As such, the duration of the testing phase remains uncertain. However, they plan to conduct a small-scale open test if the initial phase goes well.
(While the test covers a wide range of specifications, users of devices like the iPhone 13 mini will have to wait a little longer.)
Since it's still in the early stages, the iOS version may differ slightly from other platforms, but the team believes that the final cross-platform experience will be as seamless as possible. iPhone users who are fans of VRChat, now's your chance!
