There is a group of virtual idols who uphold love and truth, and they are the cute and charming VTubers. They are using their infinite creativity to protect the peace of the metaverse! This segment, VTuber News, will focus on the activities of these VTubers, documenting and spreading the messages of these adorable messengers, so that more people can feel the love and energy they bring. After introducing the September newcomer VTuber, let's now turn our attention to the October newcomers!
When it comes to the hottest debut stream in October, we can't ignore K9 KURO, who is in the same group as Kson. Their agency, VShojo, is a well-known VTuber company in the United States, founded by one of the founders of Twitch, Justin Ignacio. In order to break into the Vtuber market that is dominated by Japanese studios, VShojo have also brought in the well-known 3D/CG creator, Mowten Doo, as their CTO.
As the first male VTuber of VShojo, KURO was originally a lake elf with the power to grant wishes for humans. However, because his power was often abused, the gods had to split him in half to eliminate his power. Thus, his symbiotic counterpart, Shiro, was born. But one day, Shiro disappeared, and KURO escaped from the tomb where he was imprisoned (reborn as the god of the miracle of immortality) and started his VTuber life. He had his debut stream on Twitch on October 1st. Below is a clip of KURO's first live stream on YouTube.
Also from VShojo, Matara Kan had her debut stream on October 16th. What's special about her is that her character design is based on a queen cockroach from outer space, which reminds many people of the Pokémon Pheromosa, breaking the conventional image of character design in the VTuber space. In recent live streams, Matara Kan and KURO also collaborated, answering questions about their character designs. Matara Kan mentioned that she has been streaming for over 10 years, and her embodiment as a cockroach represents her eternal passion for streaming, which is quite symbolic.
If you are a brave viewer who can watch antennae moving and appreciate it, you can watch her live streams on Twitch or enjoy her videos on YouTube. And if you want to listen to the queen cockroach's Halloween-themed remix song "Zombies x Rob Zombie," you can check out the video below.
"Hanamizuki" is a group launched by the Japanese VTuber agency Production kawaii. Established in 2021, Production kawaii's initial goal was to spread the unique Kawaii culture of Japanese animation and manga worldwide. To eliminate the language barrier, their VTubers are all capable of speaking English and also mainly stream in English, allowing viewers who are not fluent in Japanese to enjoy Japanese VTubers!
Currently, Production kawaii has 7 VTubers, and the newly debuted group "Hanamizuki" consists of the swordsman “Ran Tsukiha," the ninja “Kaya Nishikino" and the half-yokai “Yuno Kanaki" They showcase a unique charm that combines Japanese and Western elements. All three of them had their debut streams on October 15th. Below is a clip of the highest-subscribed member of the group, the ninja Kaya Nishikino, during her live stream.
Since 2018, the Japanese company Brave Group has been launching VTuber projects. They have produced well-known music groups like Riot Music and esports groups like VSPO!, which is composed of gamers. VSPO! is the third most subscribed VTuber company globally, following hololive and Nijisanji, and is popular in the Vtuber community worldwide. One of its subsidiaries, ENILIS, recently announced a new VTuber project called "Vlash." The group's concept is "VTuber x Real," indicating that the members will not only be active in the virtual world but also in the real world! The new members of Vlash include Kagami Aishukuri, Hoshimiya Choco, Amano Mika, and Kamiya Neko. They will have their debut streams starting from October 27th!
Yeti is a VTuber from Nepal, but surprisingly, she only speaks Chinese and Taiwanese and does not speak Nepali (quite unexpected, right?). She is known as the strongest humanoid combat weapon. With a healthy complexion, traditional attire, and special tattoos on her V-skin, she has a bold personality and loves to eat. She speaks with great energy and can showcase the charm of her V-skin unity. She had her debut stream on October 11th.
Aohane Makoto, an individual VTuber, had her debut stream on October 14th. Her character design is a Taiwan blue magpie, and she became an air force member because she longed for freedom (or so she claims). She describes herself as a cute and pure VTuber, forever 17 years old. She usually streams on YouTube and Twitch, chatting, playing games, singing, and sharing knowledge about birds and the air force. She recently started a knowledge channel explaining aviation terms. If you're an aviation enthusiast, you might want to check her out.
Haku Nana, an individual VTuber, is a giant chocolate mochi from outer space. She usually has casual chats and sings on YouTube, and plays games on Twitch, often playing the Taiwanese indie game "Dungeon Munchies" developed by maJAJa. She recently announced that she will have her humanoid debut stream on October 28th, and she will continue with a singing stream on the same day, allowing everyone to enjoy her singing.
